Detroit Wedding, Selden Standard

Mars and Martissa came to us with their hearts on their sleeve. They wanted a wedding that celebrated everything they were. Queer. Black. Artists. Rooted deeply in Detroit. They chose an intimate group of close family and friends for a deeply intentional ceremony and dinner party at the start of summer. The venue they chose, Selden Standard, was in the same neighborhood as their first home together. I still don’t think I’ve cried more at a wedding in my 15 years of photography.

This wedding was shot on a mix of 35 mm film and digital photography with a short film by Beaux.
